Depoe Bay, Oregon
Depoe Bay is a very small community on the central Oregon coast just nine miles
outside of Lincoln City and about
15 miles north of Newport. It has an amazing view of the Pacific on
the north side of the harbor and as its natural rock tubes are flooded by incoming tide that spray a geyser like
spray that sometimes comes over the wall. And if you are very lucky you may just see a whale spout without ever
having to leave your parking space.
Depoe Bay's main livelihood is based on chartered fishing boats and whale
watching excursions. Tradewinds Charters is the company that will attend to all of your needs
whether it is fishing, crabbing, or whale watching.
If chartering a boat is not your thing, there are many gift shops and galleries
that line the sidewalks of Depoe Bay. There are also several good restaurants that offer a great
view of the boats coming into dock.
