Eugene is located at the confluence of the Willamette and Mackenzie Rivers. Along these rivers you can find many parks with trails to bike and hike along. Spencer Butte Park boasts Eugene's highest spot, Spencer Butte which is 2,065 feet in elevation. Chances are you will find students from the largest school in Oregon, The University of Oregon mountain biking and hiking. Eugene was also rated one of the best in the country for biking and running.
Shopping is plentiful here at Eugene's two malls, Valley River Mall and Oakwood Plaza. You can also shop in one of Eugene's quaint downtown shops or Saturday Market. Museum's tickle your fancy? Try Hult Art Center where you can view changing art exhibits. The center is noted for its terrific architecture and great theatre which is performed at the Silva Concert Hall seating 2,500.
Another site to see is the Lane County Historical Museum located on 13th Avenue. The museum offers a look back to when the settlers first appeared in Eugene all the way to present day. Maude Kerns Art Center is located next to the University campus and shows student art as well as having several galleries.
