Hood River is a bustle of windsurfers, residents, and tourists alike. This town is a great place to tour with all of
its water sports and activities. It is said to be one of the top windsurfing capitols in the world.. There are local
and international windsurfing events that take place in Hood River. It also boasts wonderful antique shops, great
food, one of Oregon’s best apple-growing regions, and antique shops. It takes you through the scenic Mount Hood
Highway , starting at SR 35 at the east edge of Hood River valley, off I84 and circles Mt. Hood and the National Forest.
There is the Mt. Hood Railroad that begins ing the center of town and terminates
in Parkdale, Oregon. There are many train rides to choose from including a mystery train, a dinner train, a brunch train, and even a Christmas train that allows you to get a get Christmas tree in Parkdale. There is
The Hood River County Historical Museum in Port Marina Park. This displays pioneer artifacts and exhibits on the area’s history.
